What is the difference between 2.4 GHZ and 5GHZ and which is better

The primary differences between the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies are range and bandwidth. 5GHz provides faster data rates, higher speed and bandwidth at a shorter distance, whereas 2.4GHz offers coverage for farther distances, 2.4GHZ although covers a farther distance compared to 5GHZ may perform at slower speeds compared with 5GHZ frequencies which allow faster transmission of data, speed and higher bandwidth.

In a Nutshell a 2.4 GHZ frequency will cover a larger WIFI area compared to 5GHZ and will provide lower data rates and bandwidth speed as compared to 5 GHZ.

There is no answer which cannot be debated a 5GHZ frequency is better than 2.4 GHZ, it’s what the Wireless Network Engineer would want to achieve and depends on the Equipment chosen by the Network Engineer and meeting the requirements of the designed network keeping in mind the budget as well.
